What does thermal imaging do for a home inspection?
Infrared (thermal imaging) is an advanced, non-invasive technology that allows the inspector to show clients things about their homes or buildings that can't be revealed using conventional inspection methods. Ancillary inspection reports are just as important as the reports generated for standard inspections. Thermography is not part of a standard home inspection, because it goes above and beyond the standards. We may include it as part of our inspection (as a courtesy), if it helps in verification of possible issues within the home. We utilize Flir Systems infrared thermal imaging cameras during our extended inspections.
